What is the deposit amount?

20% of the item price. The deposit is non-refundable.

How many payments do I make?

Five payments in total: 1 deposit + 4 instalments over up to 8 weeks. You may pay earlier.

Can I pay early?

Yes. Sign in to My Lay-by to pay your next instalment early or pay the entire remaining balance. Custom payment amounts are not currently available online.

When do I receive my item?

After the final payment clears, we dispatch your order by complimentary insured DHL Express with tracking and signature on delivery.

Can I cancel my Lay-by?

Layby sales are final. If you cancel, the 20% deposit is forfeited; any additional payments refunded.

What if I miss a payment?

A payment link is emailed fortnightly. If unpaid after the grace period, the Lay-by may be cancelled — deposit forfeited, extra payments refunded.

Do you charge any fees?

No account-keeping fees. If a Layby is cancelled due to non-payment, the deposit covers our reasonable costs of holding and relisting the item.

Can I change items during Layby?

No. Lay-by locks in a specific item. You can cancel (deposit forfeited) and start a new Lay-by on another item.

Which payment methods can I use?

Online card payments or bank debit via our secure payment links.

Is there a time limit?

Yes. The plan must be completed within 8 weeks from the deposit date unless we agree in writing to extend it.

Where can I view my Lay-by?

Sign in at lostdesigner.co.nz/account, then choose My Lay-by to view your plan, payment progress, schedule, and available payment options.

What if I need help with a payment?

Subject to the applicable consumer-law rights described in our terms.

Deposit: 20% non-refundable.
Term: up to 8 weeks, 4 scheduled instalments for remaining 80%.
Ownership: item remains with Lost Designer until fully paid.
Cancellation by customer: deposit forfeited; additional payments refunded.
Cancellation by Lost Designer: if item unavailable, all amounts refunded.
Missed payments: after the grace period, the Lay-by may be cancelled; deposit forfeited.
Delivery verification: identification or payment verification may be required before dispatch.
